Babson Diagnostics Establishes Clinician Relations Team

Babson Diagnostics, a science-first healthcare technology company, today announced the formation of a clinician relations team with experts from across the medical and diagnostics industries. The strategic hiring comes as Babson prepares for the commercial launch of BetterWay blood testing, which represents a leap forward in convenience and accessibility without sacrificing the quality, economies of scale, and broad test menu of laboratory testing.

BetterWay uses only a pea-sized amount of blood collected from a fingertip to produce medically accurate results clinicians and patients can trust. Since BetterWay does not require a phlebotomist to collect blood, Babson will expand blood testing to pharmacies and other convenient retail locations.

“Adding this deep bench of clinician relations professionals will allow us to interact and educate clinicians about our more patient-centered approach to blood testing,” said Tony Jones, Babson’s Vice President of Clinician Relations. “Their decision to join Babson underscores the innovation we are bringing to patient care and the anticipation surrounding the upcoming launch of BetterWay with retail partners in the Austin and San Antonio communities.”

Babson has developed innovations that unite less-invasive capillary blood collection at retail settings with automated sample handling and high-quality lab testing to improve the blood testing experience for patients. BetterWay’s test menu was created specifically to support primary care and family medicine, offering commonly ordered tests for annual wellness exams, chronic condition management, and screenings.

The newest members of the Babson team include:

Claudia Aranda-Esquivel, Senior Strategic Account Executive

Claudia Aranda-Esquivel, a graduate of the University of Texas San Antonio, boasts over 23 years of laboratory experience with Quest Diagnostics. Notably, he achieved the top position as an account executive for Clinical Pathology Laboratories in 2023. House brings expertise in working with ACOs, independent clinicians, and hospitals.

Babson has conducted more than 40 clinical studies with more than 4,000 study subjects and performed nearly one million tests to ensure the quality and equivalency of BetterWay. Clinicians can confidently order BetterWay tests for patient care, diagnosis and treatment and give their patients a true alternative to traditional venipuncture.

BetterWay blood testing will be available to clinicians and their patients in Austin this spring and San Antonio later in the year.
